At the end of the Pacific War , the main character, Shinichi Kazama, evacuates from Tokyo to Toyama . There, Shinichi becomes best friends with a boy named Takeshi, but for some reason Takeshi, who is his class leader and a powerful man among the boys in his class, treats Shinichi coldly at school. Eventually, a power struggle between Takeshi and his classmates begins, and Shinichi is forced into the fight.
