On a chilly evening, a man was visiting the Goyu Inn on the Tokaido in the middle of a snowstorm. The man's name was "Kusaba no Danpei". On the way there, he was asked to be a bodyguard by a horse chaser named Kichigoro, who had seen Danpei's strength before and was involved in a dispute. However, Danpei has a weakness for women, so he answers the calls of women at the inn and entertains them. Meanwhile, a hitman named Shinbei appears before Kichigoro, who says he has been hired by Shimonita Yuzo, his sworn enemy...
