Waga Na wa Ookami
Synopsis
Naiki Inugami, a wandering man, ends up staying at " Pension Takanashi," run by his father's best friend, Munekuni Takanashi. Naiki is a womanizer who sleeps with the female guests staying at the pension one after another, but Munekuni's third daughter, Sei, falls genuinely in love with him. Naiki is aware of this, but as long as he lives in an era where the ultimate goal of male-female relationships is marriage, he feels he cannot take full responsibility, so he neither sleeps with Sei nor refrains from sleeping with other women out of consideration for her. However, eventually Naiki begins a relationship with Sei's older sister, Makoto, even though they both know it's wrong, and is told that it will be difficult to continue staying at "Takanashi" without settling down with Sei. Furthermore, when he is told that Sei's presence might help him overcome the loss of a woman he once had, Naiki shows signs of deep thought, sells his motorcycle, and begins rummaging through the safe at "Takanashi" to raise money. Those who witnessed this at Takanashi thought that Naiki was planning to leave without a word, so they told Sei and sent him after him. However, the money Naiki had collected was a down payment for a new motorcycle, and he intended to push the loan onto Munekuni. Naiki made excuses, saying, "I was seriously thinking about leaving home, and I thought I needed a big motorcycle for that," and he continued to work cheerfully at Takanashi every day to pay off the loan.
