Watanabe no Harunobu is an aspiring warrior striving to become a full-fledged samurai, all while harboring a certain secret.

One day, while suffering from poor health, Harunobu encounters the mysterious Onmyoji, Abe no Seimei, who correctly deduces the exact cause of his condition just by looking at him. Furthermore, right before Harunobu's eyes, Seimei manages to extend the lifespan of a nobleman who had fallen into a pond and stopped breathing.
