Captain Ultora
Synopsis
Hirohisa Nakata's live-action version is nostalgic. The phantom "Ultra Series" is back.
In 1962, Toei's space adventure drama Captain Ultra began airing in the same Sunday night program slot at 7 p.m. as the third installment in the series following Tsuburaya Productions' Ultraman.
If the previous work was a monster-slaying story set on Earth, "Captain Ultra'' was a story in the future where Earthlings flew into space.
Shunji Obata's comic adaptation serialized in Shogakukan's "Shonen Sunday'' is based on the first part, the Bandel Alien edition.
In order to protect the peace of the universe, Captain Ultra, along with his subordinate Cicero Alien Joe and the robot Huck, continue to fight to the ends of the galaxy, driving the super spaceship "Spiegel" which disassembles into three parts.
