Nippon Taro (Hinoki no Mototaro), who was raised by an old lumberjack, inherited the old man's legacy of remote mountains. Later, the mountains were bought for dam construction and tourism, and he became a millionaire with assets of 1 trillion yen. Taro concluded that he would use 1 trillion yen to remove borders from the world, and while he was building the flying submersible aircraft carrier "Nihon-go", he traveled around the world looking for friends. Taro and his companions embark on an unknown adventure aboard the Nihon-go, which is capable of sea navigation, hydrofoil running, Mach 15 flight, and space flight.
