HI and LOW

HI and LOW by Kouta Hirano is a chaotic, 24-page wartime manga set in Manchuria during WW2. A German engineer, lured by a deceptive Japanese Kempeitai ensign, believes he’s escaping to Japan—only to be a pawn in her scheme to steal Nazi technology. Their plan is derailed when a female Nazi officer storms in, exposing the ruse and igniting a racist shouting match. Before their bickering can reach a climax, Soviet partisans attack, forcing the two nationalist rivals into an uneasy alliance to fend off the communists and save the hapless engineer.
