Rikka Sanada, a college student majoring in science, loses consciousness in a freak accident and awakens in the mountains of "Shorin-koku"—a world in another dimension.

Though confused by her sudden transport from modern Japan, she finds hope of returning home after being aided by Seiun—an official who manages the Inner Palace—and Rinka, the Emperor's younger sister who is her exact doppelgänger.

The story follows Rikka's adventures as she searches for a way back to Japan.

Disguised as a "Sorceress," she utilizes her modern scientific knowledge to solve a succession of bizarre mysteries plaguing the Inner Palace!
