On his way to the skating center, Date Bintaro of Chidori Yokohama High School's ice hockey team encounters a large, foolish man carrying a huge fish ( a yellowtail ). The man demands to know where there is ice nearby, and Bintaro, panicked, replies that it's the skating center and runs away. The man who chases after him all the way to the ice hockey game venue turns out to be his half-brother, Goda Dan . Dan had come from Kushiro, Hokkaido, to give his younger brother a yellowtail, his father's favorite fish, as a substitute for their father's funeral, which was lost at sea. He intended to return to Kushiro after finishing his business, but there was one thing he couldn't leave. He had fallen in love at first sight with Yokota Mahiru, who was playing in a practice game that Bintaro was participating in. Just then, Mahiru, who was looking for a replacement for a player who was absent due to illness, appears, and Dan ends up playing in the ice hockey game and staying in Kanagawa. With Dan joining the team, the ice hockey club now has enough players to participate in an official game and enters the rookie tournament.
