The series is a comic adaptation of Hinata Yuki's novel. After graduating from academy, the protagonist Loretta devotes six years to studying and training to become a princess, hoping to marry the second prince and contribute to the country as a saint. However, at her graduation party, she is told that her engagement is annulled, leaving her with no future. Now that she is no longer a student, she is kicked out of her dorm and left homeless. Then, she meets the crimson magician, Rush. Upon hearing that a precious saint has been called off by a foolish prince and is at the employment office, Rush is overcome with fear that the country will be destroyed, and so decides to hire Loretta as a maid to protect her. Crown Prince Cyril joins them, and the three begin to confront a conspiracy lurking within the country.
