Maywolf M. Mayfield, a female author currently working as a third-rate novelist, is invited to the Simplex Communications' Heaven branch in the towering city of Heaven to write a travelogue. In this city, inhabited by a diverse range of people like a zoo, strange events unfold around her. The story then develops into a turmoil surrounding Heaven's hidden secrets, beginning with the battle for the city's central library.
