This work was awarded the semi-finalist prize in the Afternoon Shiki Award 2022 Summer Contest, with judge Mori Kaoru praising it for its "excellent portrayal of complex human emotions, such as memories, sadness, helplessness, and indescribable anxiety."

Jiro's older brother has been in poor health since he was a child and has been in and out of the hospital frequently.

His brother often spends his time sleeping at home, and perhaps because of this, he sometimes says strange things.
