Ritsu is an office worker (Office Lady) who is overly concerned about what others think. With the change in their lifestyles, she can no longer easily invite her friends from her school days out to eat, and so she spends her days eating alone. Just then, it's revealed that Mo and Rune, whom she met through an online game, are also "lonely meal companions" (bocchi meshi nakama). She musters up the courage to go to a buffet (viking) with them...!
